July 24, 2025 - Driving from Alaska to Maryland
Two Medicine Lake, Glacier NP

We drove south from St. Mary down to Two Medicine Lake, about an hour drive.  From there we decided to hike to some falls on the south side of the lake.

They have a campground here.  This building has a general store to get your camping supplies.

Another view of the general store.  Ample parking was avaible here.

Old fashioned sight-seeing car.

Two Medicine Lake.  You could rent canoes and boats here.

Pretty lake.

We set out west on the South Shore trail.

Pretty area surrounding a pond.

A moose liked the pond too.

Wait, there are two of them!

We weren't the only hikers enjoying the experience.

And then there were three!

I have noticed that Moose seem to like standing in water.

Continuing on, we come to Aster Falls.

The trail continued on.  A very long way.  In fact, as far as you wanted.  But it had been a long day and we decided to call it.

The hour drive back to St. Mary was tough as we were all tired.

We checked into our lodging here, at the St. Mary Village main lodge.  This is also where the restaurant and gift shop was.

Lodging at the St. Mary Village was the most expensive of our entire Alaskan road trip.  But there is very little lodging available on the east side of the Park.  If you want to be close to the park, you have to pay.

At the front desk they told me we were in the "Little House".  OK.

This was our lodging!  The building on the right had the bedrooms.  The building on the left was our stand-alone bathroom!   Interesting.

The bedhouse had two rooms, this mini-kitchen/bed room.

And this bedroom.

We were surprised to find the stand-alone bathroom very nice and upscale.
